Yesterday, Arsenal played the first match at the new 60,000 seater Emirates Stadium. The match was played against Ajax and was Dennis Bergkamp testimonial match... For the record, Arsenal won 2-1 through strikes from King Henry after a cross from Lee Dixon and Kanu whose shot was deflected off the backside of Ajax skipper Jaap Stam into the net... With the retirement of Bergkamp and the relocation to a new stadium , Arsenal has ushered in a new era. Let's hope that the current crop of young Gunners will maintain the proud tradition of Arsenal which has come to epitomize football played with skills, flair and pace, joga bonito style... So to the first Arsenal Team which i supported, I shall name them on the blog now.... David Seaman, Lee Dixon, Tony Adams, Martin Keown, Nigel Winterburn, Ray Parlour, Petit, Viera, Overmars, Ian Wright and Dutch Maestro DENNIS BERGKAMP.
